Vernon RCMP were called to the Vernon Sandman hotel after a woman entered the lobby with a stab wound to the abdomen.

RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said police were called just before 7 p.m. Friday.

“When they arrived they found a 48-year-old female laying on the floor holding her abdomen,” said Molendyk. “She was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Officers were provided with details of the stabbing, and a short time later two suspects were arrested.”

A 38-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were arrested near the Blue Stream motel, which is on the same block as the Sandman.

“The stabbing did not occur at the Sandman it appears it took place on the street,” said Molendyk, adding the file is still under investigation and the woman is expected to face charges at a later date.
