A Kelowna mom and her son are organizing a charity golf tournament this month in support of two local organizations.
Money raised will go to HOPE Outreach, a safe house for women, and the Central Okanagan Refugee Committee.
“My family chose to support CORC and HOPE because we want to show love to the people that both organizations help,” said Tara Tschritter. ”We know each dollar will be well-used, creating opportunities for those we care about.”
“I know how much I have — love and opportunity specifically — and I wish everyone had those things,” said 13-year-old Dayton Jensen.
The event will be held Saturday at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club. It will begin with a team-based nine-hole golf tournament at 3 p.m., followed by dinner.
